The Story Behind HIPA Masala

Food in an Indian home is far more than sustenance — it is a daily celebration of culture, family connection, and wellness. At the core of every memorable meal is the aroma of freshly ground spices simmering in warm ghee or oil.

HIPA Masala was founded by HIPA Enterprises with a clear mission: to bring the authentic taste and aroma of traditional South Indian kitchen masalas to modern homes and food businesses. Inspired by ancestral recipes passed down through generations, we set out to create spice products that honour authentic regional flavours without relying on shortcuts, synthetic additives, or artificial colours.

Craft & Consistency

Our Approach to Spice Blending

Exceptional masala starts with raw ingredient selection. We source premium-grade whole spices — plump coriander seeds, pungent Guntur red chillies, high-curcumin turmeric rhizomes, Tellicherry black peppercorns, and aromatic whole spices.

Each ingredient is carefully cleaned and milled under controlled low temperatures. This critical step preserves the delicate, volatile essential oils that give each spice its signature aroma and therapeutic properties. In our blended masalas, whole spices and lentils are slow-roasted before grinding to replicate the authentic texture and aroma of stone-ground home podis.
